Special Meeting of Diversion Authority Scheduled

October 2012

A special meeting of the Diversion Board of Authority has been scheduled for Tuesday, October 23rd at 8:00 am in the Fargo City Commission Chambers. The purpose of the meeting is to authorize the Chair to make a formal request to the US Army Corps of Engineers to analyze and further refine the ring levee concept for Oxbow, Hickson, and Bakke Subdivision.

Several weeks ago, the concept of a ring levee to protect these communities was introduced. The concept of a ring levee appears to have potential to mitigate the impacts of the diversion on these communities. It has become apparent that additional information and detail should be developed to allow an informed decision to be made regarding inclusion of a ring levee in the project.

The Corps of Engineers is agreeable to leading this study if requested to do so by the Diversion Board of Authority.

The meeting agenda is posted on the Diversion Authority Meeting Documents page.
